"If I'm choking, make a scene..." - The Scare
October 31st 2006 01:48
Being Halloween, I thought it was only appropriate to keep with the theme and write about local Brisbane band, The Scare. But the only thing scary about this band is that they are probably going to take over the world.
Lock up your daughters, folks, these guys have just returned to Oz from Birmingham, UK, jumped straight on the tour wagon and they are ready to fuck shit up.
Composed of 5 strapping, young, lads with enough talent to send well-established bands’ tales between their legs, they’re set to blow the roof off Spectrum this Friday night (Nov 3). They’re a band that you’ll regret not seeing while they were still relatively unknown, so get to www.moshtix.com and buy tickets.
Having released two EPs, Masochist Mimes and Vacuum Irony, the band is currently recording new singles and is heading towards the production of their debut LP, which is guaranteed to be killer.
The Scare have a punk/indie/garage sound that they’ve made all their own over the past year of touring the UK. They put on sharp, raw, live performances and Wade K. rocks a tambourine in ways you never thought were possible. They’ll give you their heart and souls on stage and spit in your face if you don’t like it. Gaining a greater following in the UK and with support steadily growing here in Oz, it’ll be and tea and biscuits with the Queen pretty soon.
